Front National leader Marine Le Pen appeared at the polling station, in Henin-Beaumont’s Jean-Jacques Rousseau school, Sunday, to cast her vote for the second round of the French Regional Elections.

Polling stations will stay open until 18:00 local time (17:00 GMT), all across the country, with two hours more top vote in the largest cities, until 20:00 local time (19:00 GMT). France is expected to see a major bout between Marine Le Pen’s Front National and Sarkozy’s Republicans, after the Socialists were left aside in the first round.

Front National secured around 28 percent of the vote in last Sunday’s first round, beating the Republicans who secured just under 27 percent and the ruling Socialist Party who polled with 23.5 percent.
